The International Tahona Society Cocktail Competition 2016 Final

The final of the 6th International Tahona Society Cocktail Competition is coming to Arandas, Mexico on September 11th – 16th.

The Tahona Society, considered the world’s leading tequila education programme and cocktail competition, was launched in 2009 by two legends of the bar industry, Andreas Masso and the late director of Strange Hill Henry Besant.

It was the first education program to be created by bartenders for bartenders and enabled them to share their passion for tequila and all things Mexican to the global bartending community. Today it travels to 25 countries across the world educating in the order of 3000 bartenders annually and culminates with a final that takes place every year at the home of tequila in Arandas Mexico.

This year the final will see winners from as far as Russia, Austria, Lithuania, South Korea, Belarus, UK, Greece, Poland, Cyprus, South Africa, Ireland, China, Oslo, Colombia, Canada, Portugal and the USA.

The judges lined up are a collection of some of the most prestigious and recognised bartenders in the industry. They include Dre Masso, PTT Family’s Director of Mixology and one of the creators of the Altos brand, Charles Joly founder of Craft House Cocktails and a past winner of the competition, Alfonso Cadena who is Chef of Hueso restaurant in Guadalajara, Mike Capoferri an American bartender and last year´s Tahona Society winner and Cairbry Hill Director of Strange Hill.

The overall winner will be crowned with the honour of becoming the Tahona Society Global Ambassador for the year.
