Strange Hill were approached by The Renaissance Hotel Group (part of Marriot Group) in order to design the bar and concept in one of London’s most historic buildings.
After years of neglect the Grade II listed St Pancras Hotel underwent an extensive renovation and restoration and it simply made sense to draw heavily on the heritage of the Victorian era, arguable one the richest periods of British cocktail culture, for our inspiration.
Strange Hill’s involvement went into every detail of the project from concept development to implementation and opening. One of the fundamental challenges of this project was delivering the level of product, detail and service required on such a large scale. This required the development and implementation of very carefully thought-out operational systems, the success of which is demonstrated by the awards and reviews this venue has received.
The menu itself features a range of seasonal punches served from bespoke-designed silver-plated samovars and a range of short drinks served in lovingly replicated Victorian glassware. The menu also includes St Pancras bespoke own label beers.
The St Pancras Hotel was voted the Number One Hotel in the UK in The Sunday Times Magazine’s 2011 Top 100 Hotels in the World.
