Beefeater 24

Strange Hill were approached by Chivas Brothers to assist in the development of a new ultra premium London dry gin to sit alongside classic Beefeater; one that would offer a delicate and elevated customer experience, particularly in relation to high end cocktails. Consequently, we were asked to put together two independent panels of bartenders and spirits experts to ascertain the final formula for the gin.
Working closely alongside master distiller Desmond Payne, we set about assembling teams of tasters in London and New York to ascertain the optimum formula for sampling neat and in a range of mixed drinks such as the Tom Collins, Martini, Martinez and G&T. The results were indicative of the quality of the gin and of the continued sterling work performed by Desmond and his team in London; and Beefeater 24 was born.
